Additional Information

Is the 5-Day Everest View Trek for Beginners?

The 5-day trek to Everest View is one of the easiest in the Everest region, making it suitable for beginners. Two factors make the trek suitable for first-time trekkers: short duration and lower Elevation.

Unlike the Everest Base Camp trek and others in the Khumbu region, which takes 14-18 days to complete, the Everest View trek is much shorter, taking just 5 days. Most trekking becomes challenging due to its long duration, which is not a concern for the trek to Everest View. For beginners, this makes it more manageable and enjoyable.

Moreover, the trek takes trekkers to a maximum elevation of 3,880m, making it more beginner-friendly. While altitude-related issues can still be a concern at this Elevation, it is much lower than Everest Base Camp and the Three Passes trek. If beginners are well-prepared, stay hydrated, listen to their bodies, and acclimatize properly, they can complete the trek without fear of altitude sickness.

Permits for Everest Panorama Trek

For the Everest Panorama trek, trekkers must obtain two mandatory permits: a Sagarmatha National Park permit and a Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit. Without those permits, trekkers can’t complete their trek to Everest View. As the trek to Everest Panorama lies within the territory of Sgarmatha National Park, the Sagarmatha National Park Permit is crucial. Likewise, most of Khumbu Valley requires a Khumbu Pasang Lhamnu Rural Municipality permit for environmental conservation, sustainable tourism, and support for local community purposes.

Trekkers can get the Sagarmatha National Park permit at the Nepal Tourism Board Office in Kathmandu or the entrance point in Monjo. It costs NPR 3,000 for foreign nationals and NPR 1,500 for SAARC nationals. Similarly, the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit is obtainable at Tourism offices in Kathmandu, Lukla, and Monjo’s checkpost. The permit costs NPR 3000, but it may vary depending on the nationality and whether you are trekking in a group or individually.

Food Options during the Everest View Trek

Tea houses and lodges along the way to Everest View Trek offer food during the trek. The tea houses provide a menu with various food, unlike in the city areas. Yet, the foods are hygienic and fresh. However, we suggest you not consume non-veg items as they are unhealthy. Here is the list of food options available during the Everest View Trek:

Breakfast: Oatmeal, Tibetan bread or Chapati, Corn Flakes, Pancakes, Fruits and Vegetables, Muesli Breads, French toast with Jam, Cheese, Local Tsampa porridge, Butter, Eggs, and Hot drinks.

Lunch and Dinner: Dhal Bhat, Tibetan Bread, Salad Pizza, Thukpa, Vegetable curry, Pasta, Potatoes, Various Soups, Sherpa Stew, Sandwiches, Momo, Macaroni dishes, and Tenduk Spaghetti Noodles.

Dessert: Fresh fruits

Best Time for Everest View Trek

The Everest View trek is one of the easiest, so it can be undertaken throughout the year. However, the Everest region has four distinct seasons, each with challenges and rewards. Thus, selecting the best time for the trek greatly depends on the trekker’s preference.

Many prefer spring and Autumn for an Everest view trek. Spanning from March to May, Spring is pre-monsoon, and Autumn is post-monsoon in Nepal from September to November. Both seasons have mild and stable weather conditions, making them ideal for trekking in Everest View. However, the trekking season is among the peak times in Nepal, making the trail crowded, which could be unsuitable for those seeking a solitude experience.

Furthermore, summer is the warmest time of the year, from June to August. Yet the season is also monsoon time, making the trail slippery, with the risk of landslides and leeches-infected trails. Thus, trekking during summer requires preparation and planning. Similarly, winter, from December to February, is the coldest season with harsh weather. While trekking is possible during the time, below-minus degree temperatures and snowfall with a risk of avalanches make it unfavorable and challenging to Everest Trek during winter.

Our fixed departure dates and per-person pricing make it simple for both solo travelers and small groups to join the adventure. It’s a great chance to meet new people and share the experience with other trekkers. Just choose your preferred date, and we’ll take care of the rest.
