Rik Man Tamang is a professional trekking guide from Sertung, a beautiful village in the Ganesh Himal Ruby Valley region of northern Dhading, Nepal. Born and raised in the Tamang community, he grew up surrounded by the Himalayas, rich local traditions, and unique mountain culture, which inspired his passion for trekking and tourism from an early age.
He started his trekking career in 2018 as a porter and spent several years working in different famous trekking regions of Nepal. During his porter experience, he gained valuable knowledge about mountain trails, nature, local cultures, and the history of Himalayan communities. He also improved his English communication skills while working closely with international trekkers from around the world.
Over the years, Rik has become a professional and experienced trekking guide, especially guiding in the Manaslu region, Annapurna, Langtang, Everest, and other remote trekking areas of Nepal. During the off-season, he returns to his hometown in Ruby Valley, where he helps his parents with farming and continues living close to his traditional village lifestyle.
